The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in science and 1-3 years’ experience in similar roles. The resource will be placed within the Energy Management Team where he/she will be able to specialize in the Short Term Bidding & Market Optimization part or in the Trading part.
In the Short Term Bidding & Market Optimization area, the main activities will concern:
- Support to operations related to bidding on the spot and power services markets
- definition and implementation of scheduling and bidding strategies on energy markets (PCE, MGP, MI, MSD)
- optimisation of input and withdrawal profiles for managed assets (renewable generation plants, programmable conventional generation plants)
- short-term planning of the expected production of the managed generation plants
- Analysis and monitoring of energy markets
In the Trading area, the main activities will concern:
- management and optimization of the portfolio of production units (Open position, P&L, sensitivity)
- supply and access to energy markets (forward, regulated and OTC)
- development, implementation and monitoring of hedging, trading and optimization strategies through the use of derivatives and options
- Verification of compliance with the risk limits defined in the company’s risk policies
- Retrieval, monitoring and analysis of data and information relating to energy market drivers and fundamentals
- analysis of energy markets and development of price and consumption forecasting models
It requires:
– Knowledge of the regulation and functioning of the Italian electricity and gas market
– Knowledge of energy markets as a whole
– Basic knowledge of regulation and operation in the field of power dispatching and gas logistics in Italy
– Advanced knowledge of Excel
– Knowledge of advanced computer programming (Phyton/Matlab or other language)
– Basic knowledge of SQL data processing and manipulation language
- Knowledge of a Business Intelligence tool (Power BI, Qlik Sense, Tableau) or Machine Learning is an advantage
- Good knowledge of the English language
